very nive !!!
It sounds very different than all the other albums : quite happy ! But I still think Kria's voice is missing...
Some of what we can hear makes me think of François de Roubaix... Anyway I can't be objective : when it comes from Mùm I always find it great !
i only listened to 3 snippets and surely won't judge from these few-second-samples, but i sure hope there'll be some more depth to it than to go go ivy, right now it seems like it will be a standard indie-folk album. hope i'm wrong.
Illuminated is the song they've played live during the go go smear the poison ivy tour. I've listened to the samples, and I didn't dig a single one of these. I really really hope the complete versions will get me wrong. I'm skeptic for the moment. Wait and see.
very different indeed...that is really quite a different type of album title for them...have no idea what to say really, except that i'm SOOOOO happy they're using mr.Silla's GORGEOUS voice as a primary in most of them, it seems. I got her record Foxbite with Mongoose, and her voice is so breathtaking.
It really isn't anything like the old múm we all adore and keep referring to, but then again, the kids have always said in interviews that they're always changing and let the people that come help them put something into the albums as well (which i think it´s probably the deal here)...so i guess in reality it really is the múm we love, no new nor old if you think of it just always being Gunni & Örvar as the main sternhold to keep it all together, and that they've just been bringing friends in to help them.
However, why on earth is it being released on Morr Music instead of Fat Cat Records? ?
It's great to put a name to that one they were playing during the ggstpi tour. I really loved that song. the last one, 'ladies of the new century' sounds pretty, the few seconds i heard. I'm really excited for August regardless.
I wonder if Ólöf is back or if she´s on infinite maternity leave from múm...anybody know?
Kinda funny if you consider her baby, and that one song 'the smell of today is sweet like breastmilk in the wind.' If she´s not still with them, maybe that´s a tribute to her? Haha, i don´t know...just grasping here i think...
múm must definitely have one of the most crazy (so it might seem) anthology of music...think if there was ever a 'The Best of...' album...new people picking it up would be 'this can´t be the same band, surely...' hahaha.
As long as they have fun, <3 múm forever.
EDIT:
Yeah, i feel stupid...only 7 members, I guess Ólöf's not back with them

anywho, I've worked on figuring out the lyrics to the sing-along songs. I had some help from múm's lyrical snippets posted on twitter as well as some insights from friends at the SRMB. nice folks they are.
so I thought I'd post them here to share with for all the lyric obsessed fans around here. you know who you are.

Disclaimer: I cannot assure that these are 100% accurate and know that I feel some of these transcripts are still a "work in progress." the one for "The Smell Of Today Is Sweet Like Breastmilk In The Wind" is such one case. so, if you spot any possible mistakes please point them out if you have something better to suggest. corrections are much appreciated.
[quote="arnfdeno":3a40e]... it's quite a nice balanced mix of tunes. lovely summer album...[/quote:3a40e]
hrm.. well... I amn't so thrilled about the last two albums. I am not trying to sound superior or supermensch or similar.. but the music does not give me any kicks. it is not so interesting or experimental enough musically...
there I have said it.. and I guess I shall be kicked out of the forum now for this...
but mind you..
I don't like all David Bowie's albums either!! and he is one of my favourite artists. I stopped buying his albums after "Let's dance" because I did not find them interesting enough.. until "Heathen" that was released in the 21st century.
and the same with Picasso...
I do not like all his work but I still respect him as an artist..
the same with múm
anyway I am glad that they have found a new audience and that they are exploring new type of music..
I am still searching for my lovely summeralbum

I have to say I do agree with you K, the new songs are pleasant, but not breathtaking like they used to be. Maybe it what it's like to become older : you feel comfortable in a chair, you sit and watch birds and stuff, you dont try to fly after them any longer.
he he..
well.. I still try to chase the "birds" whenever I can. I will never be too old for that!!
but yes.. one tends to be more selective with age.
"Any friend of Batman... is a friend of mine" doesn't suit anymore. That is so-o-o-o-o-h L'Ancienne Regime..
When I was younger I used to think like that.. well not about Batman.. but y'know what I mean!? Like for instance, I had to buy every single record with The Cure because I had to do so... even if I did not like the songs.. I do not do so anymore. I only buy the records I really like and that are important to me. L'essence! Quality before Quantity
hrm.. those old singles with The Cure may be worth something now?? I will check eBay

i'm afraid i have to admit that i don't like the new album at all. múm was, to me, the perfect mix of electronic, folk and avantgarde. the electronics are almost gone, the avantgarde completely (which might have been kristín's influence, whose solo-stuff is as disappointing to me, as it is almost unlistenable avantgarde, that in turn isn't working withouth the múm influence). so what's left are quite generic folk-tunes, that lack originality and composition, two things that were múm trademarks. it makes me kinda sad. but i will give it more listens and hope that it still might grow on me at some point, which i'm not too optimistic will ever come...
I, for one, LOVE this new album. My favourite tracks are Sing Along, The Smell of Today is Like Sweet Breastmilk in the Wind, that Kay-Ray whatever one, and Illuminated. Maybe it's because I already like Indie stuff and this is in a pretty 'Indie' style.
and MOJO calls it a "career peak"..

I wouldn't call it that. Trying to compare Yesterday Was Dramatic - Today Will Be OK with Sing Along to Songs You Don't Know is silly, because they're so different.

This is what the scammers expect, the check will NY escort only bounce about 3 weeks to a month later at which point your bank will take back the money leaving you short of the shipping money. The best way of avoiding this fraud is not to sell your vehicle to someone who wants to pay the shipper.I NY escorts hope all this hasn't scared you away from the Internet, If you are sensible and wary about offers that seem too good to be true then you should be Ok, just NY asian escort apply the same commonsense you use in everyday life, after all if a stranger walked up to you in the street and said "Hi I am from your bank what's NY asian escorts your credit card number and PIN"
The most important point in yoga for a beginner is to breathe correctly during the postures. In yoga you breathe in nyc asian escort and nyc asian escorts out through your nose in order to allow yourself to breathe more deeply. Breathing helps you get relaxed and it also helps you move more deeply into the poses. If you feel an area of nyc escort tension in your body, you can direct your breathe to that spot to help it release. If, at any time during a pose, you find that you cannot breathe deeply, either ease up or come nyc escorts out of the pose.
